Icy Lee
Icy graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong holding Bachelor of Culture and Creative Arts (Music). While studying, she was awarded Parsons Music Entrance Scholarship, HKSAR Talent Development Scholarship and Reaching Out Award Scholarship. In 2020, Lee received Distinction in Piano Recital from Trinity College London (ATCL), and Merit in Grade 8 Music Theory from ABRSM. Icy learnt piano from Mr Tino Maxwell, harpsichord from Ms Bu Xinge and vocal from Ms Michelle Chan Man Yi. In 2022, Icy travelled Sweden to study piano with Lena Johnson, Mats Jansson and Luciana Noda, and study organ with Karl Magnus Jansson. Icy actively participate local and overseas competition to gain recognition, including Chopin Memorial Prize Open Competition Third, Superior Culture International Youth Music Festival 2nd Runner-up, Hong Kong Piano Competition Winner, etc. She also performed in Örebro Universitet, 'Young Music Heros Concert' and 'Mastering the Stage Concert'. Other than solo performances, being an accompaniment for western and chinese instruments and choirs is a passion for her too. She was the pianist in the EdUHK Chorus and Singers, the Early Music and Recorder Band, and the Western Chamber Ensemble. During the years, she performed together in many annual performances and recording events.
In the past four years of teaching, Icy focused in private piano class and accompaniment, and taught piano in HKSKH Calvary Church. Her students include a wide age range from 3 years old to senior adult, with different learning level, language and background. She is good at providing customized teaching and practice method to different abilities, plus using story-telling and mini games to stimulate students' creativeness. Other than piano teaching, Miss Lee teaches Handchime in Holy Family Canossian School (Kowloon Tong), Kit Sam Lam Bing Yim Secondary School and Yuen Long Public Middle School Alumni Association Tang Ying Yip Primary School, and teaches E-Orchestra in Lingnan University Alumni Association (Hong Kong) Primary School. Currently member of Sapphire Bell, a local handbell team, she committed to promoting handbell music to the community and is actively preparing concerts.
