Michelle MY Chan
Michelle studied piano, vocal and flute since the age of 5. During her learning years in childhood, she was already being very keen to participate in various types pf performances and competitions. After completing the piano performance diploma at 17-years of age, she has achieved the Vocal Scholarship from the Auckland Best of the West Vocal Competition in the same year. Thereafter, she was invited by the Auckland University of New Zealand for a double bachelor's degree in Music (Honours) and Literature; After graduation, she carried on her master degree in music, majoring in musicology.
After returning to Hong Kong, Michelle has completed a professional certificate in music therapy, and a second master degree at Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in orchestra conducting. She has successively studied with many famous teachers including: piano masters Tamas Vermas, Nan Gibson and Li Ming Qiang; vocal masters Isabel Cunningham, Beatrice Webster and Dr. Anthony Derek, and flute under Kate Lawson, the principle of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Besides diplomas in piano and vocal performance, Michelle also holds a teaching certificate (CT ABRSM) from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music. In recent years, Michelle is active in promoting public music activities, participating in community art performances for charity and being invited for judicatory works in important music competitions.
